A Phoenix Map & Fae Kindle Unlimited Books

I’ve just received my very own copy of the King of Always hardcover edition and, oh wow, check out the stunning map, complete with phoenixes, by the amazing Isle Brookes Design!

In the pics below, all I need is a mustache to complete the Groucho Marx look. Anyone remember that comic genius? Perhaps I have a new calling to consider.

I adore hardbacks…the weight, the paper, the overall solidity. Mmmm.

And keep scrolling to find a new story to adore in the Fae Fantasy Promo for books in Kindle Unlimited!

“I have a bone-deep premonition this girl is going to cause me the worst kind of trouble – infinite and unfathomable. But on the positive side, at least I’m not bored anymore.”

Fae Princes Think Mortals are Pests!

Ask Juno Heart (that’s me) a Question!

Dying to know how far away the next book is? Or when Gade’s prequel will be ready? How about what I plan to write next? What Ever’s childhood was like? Lara’s favorite sock color? Or perhaps whether I’ve ever been bitten by a cockatoo or not?

Yes? Then go ahead and submit your question in the anonymous form below and it might get chosen to appear in my newsletter. I’m pretty open and will answer almost anything, except if it’s about how many pieces of chocolate I’ve eaten that day. Okay, I’ll answer…but I’ll be fibbing.

Make sure you’ve subscribed, too, so you don’t miss the, no doubt, incredibly scintillating answer to your query. 🤣

Fairy Prince Romance Book – the Hardcover Edition

Check out the beautiful new hardcover edition of Prince of Never! I was so excited to pull this one out of its packaging folks.

It’s so sturdy and yummy and the paper feels divine. I absolutely love it.

Now I think the Prince of Fire, Rafael, and his lady, Isla, need one for their book, too!

Prince of Never – Audiobook Release – Fae Romance

Yaaaaay! It’s release day for the Prince of Never audiobook. I’ve been listening to it today folks, and let me tell you, I am absolutely loving it. It’s so much fun to hear Ever’s sensuous, spine-tingling haughtiness & Lara’s warmth and unique mix of sassiness and uncertainty brought to life by the narrators, James Fouhey & Gina Rogers.

Kudos to J & G. They’ve done awesome jobs!

And not just voicing the main characters – it’s so cool to hear their renditions of icy Queen Varenus, nasty Unseelie Prince Temnen, and resident pain-in-the-butt, Kian Leondearg.

Okay, so I’m off to lie down, close my eyes, put my headphones on, and melt back into the story. Lara and Ever have just kissed! OMG. WOW! And…sighhhh…

Go and have a listen to the sample. I hope you enjoy its awesome-sauceness.

And don’t forget the Newsletter & Facebook comps for the FREE COPIES will be announced on the 12th of Feb. Ciao! 💜 Juno 💜

Kissing a Fae Prince

Here’s a sneak-peek excerpt from King of Always from Raff’s perspective. It’s not every day a girl kisses her first fae prince, and in a tower cell too…

“You know I cannot lie.”

“Yeah, but I can. And if I want to, I have every right to call in the bargain we struck on Mount Cúig and make you kiss me.”

“And you would be a fool to waste your command on something I would give you freely a thousand times over.” I place her palm on my chest. “Feel the pound of my heart, the heat of my skin, then look around and count the nightmares in this cell. This, sweet Isla, is not how I pictured our first kiss.” I touch her cheek, marveling at the silky texture. “I imagined a lavish feast in my chambers. A roaring fire in the hearth. Fine wine. Soft furs. I want you to feel like a princess when I touch you, not a prisoner.”

“And I want warmth and comfort. And, just for a change, a zing through my blood that doesn’t come from fear or confusion. I want heat and fun. So I’m asking you to give me this now just because I want it. Let me have power over something. Take my mind off our reality, Raff. I don’t want to think about where we are anymore.”

Even if I were dying, I could not deny her. As her cherry lips move slowly closer, I frame her face with my palms, losing my last scrap of sanity in the inky depths of her eyes.

Chains chink between us—but they may as well be fashioned from feathers. A soft palm cups my shoulder. Her lashes drop. Her mouth opens—an intake of breath. I press my lips to hers and the poison sizzles in my blood, then stops, halting its progress toward my coal-black soul.

She presses closer, her hands going to my face. Our tortured breaths combine, panting in sync. Our mouths slide deliciously, pulses pounding, skin on fire. Minds combusting.

The cell disappears. I’m cleaved in half and dragged two ways—one part joins the endless galaxies that spin the fabric between worlds, the other melts slowly, and with every soft moan and ragged sigh, merges with Isla’s being.

This girl is mine. I am hers. Sealed with a kiss. My fiery queen.

The Wild Hunt – Never Join a Faery Procession

The beautiful, creepy fae! Separate images from Creative Commons, collage by Juno Heart.

The supernatural Wild Hunt has long featured in stories and myths, songs and art, which is hardly surprising, it would be an incredibly awesome event to behold. Well, as long as you weren’t dragged down to the underworld or the fairy kingdom forever and ever just for wandering outside on the wrong night. Ack, not good!

Legend has it that seeing a Hunt foretold of something horrible on the way, a war, plague or famine, or even the death of the hapless person witnessing it.

So if you’re ever out wandering in the wee hours and you hear the Wild Hunt’s horn, don’t delay, don’t look, just cover your eyes and run fast and hide before you get swept up by the Goblin King. Better hope he doesn’t spy you admiring him!

In book 2 of the Black Blood Fae series, Prince Raff has just joined Lara and Ever’s three-day wedding march back to Merrin Creek, along with most of the Elemental Court, and he warns Isla that fae processions are very similar to a Wild Hunt. Let’s eavesdrop for moment:

“And how did you sleep last night?” I ask, admiring this morning’s look of rumpled ruin—twigs and leaves crushed in her once shining yellow hair.

“Not great. There were a lot of weird noises in the dark, odd singing, screams and cries. It felt a bit like a war camp, rather than a traveling wedding party.”

“Yes, fae processions are hardly very different to a Wild Hunt. They begin formal and beautiful but quickly devolve. All manner of unspeakable things happen under moon shadow. But do not worry. You and I should form an alliance. A truce, if you like. Then when you are under my protection, no creature, wild or tame, would dare harm you.” As soon as the words have left my mouth, I know they could not have been more poorly chosen.

Her eyes have narrowed, peachy cheeks darkening to scarlet. With barely contained fury.

I’ve offended her again. When will I learn to keep my mouth shut?

And check out this spooky 1899 poem by W.B. Yeats about the Terrible Hunt.

“The Hosting of the Sidhe”

The host is riding from Knocknarea
And over the grave of Clooth-na-Bare;
Caoilte tossing his burning hair,
And Niamh calling Away, come away:

Empty your heart of its mortal dream.

The winds awaken, the leaves whirl round,

Our cheeks are pale, our hair is unbound,
Our breasts are heaving our eyes are agleam,
Our arms are waving our lips are apart;
And if any gaze on our rushing band,
We come between him and the deed of his hand,
We come between him and the hope of his heart.

The host is rushing ‘twixt night and day,
And where is there hope or deed as fair?
Caoilte tossing his burning hair,
And Niamh calling Away, come away.

Hmmm… very creepy crawly!
